The year 1969 gifted the cinematic world, a gem Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Today the megastar completes 50 glorious years in the entertainment world as his debut film released exactly 50 years back in 1969. Signing the dotted line the then-struggling actor was paid not so handsomely for Saat Hindustani
The Shahenshah of Bollywood as he is fondly called by millions and millions of fans, megastar Amitabh Bachchan completes 50 glorious years in the Indian film industry today. Marking his cinematic journey, the actor with his rigorous hard work and dedication proved to the filmmakers and audience that he is here to stay and continues to do the same even after five decades of non-stop work. Beginning his journey back in the year 1969, the actor was signed by KA Abbas for Saat Hindustani. The actor signed the dotted line on 15th February 1969, with a lot of hesitation.
Today we bow down to actor/filmmaker Tinnu Anand, for getting this gem of a star to us. Back then Big B was roped in to play just a poet’s friend, while Tinnu Anand played the poet’s role which was a prominent one, but destiny had something better stored for the actor. Due to some circumstances, Tinnu had to leave the project and Big B ultimately landed the lead role of a poet and that’s how began the journey of this megastar on the celluloid for years to come. But not many know that the remuneration for Saat Hindustani was not a great deal and would leave you shocked and how! The actor was merely paid Rs. 5000. While we got digging for more, hoping of this amount being the signing amount, but Nay peeps this was Big B’s fees paid by the filmmaker for the entire movie. But this work hungry struggling actor back then grabbed this opportunity and we were blessed with THE AMITABH BACHCHAN all set to entertain us then and 50 years down the line he still continues to do so.
Bachchan back then gave several hits and his craft of acting got him recognition across borders and his fame and popularity have grown with each passing year. To name a few of his hits were Sholay, Deewar, Zanjeer, Hum, Silsila, Coolie, Satte Pe Satta, Chupke Chupke, Kabhie Kabhie, Paa, Cheeni Kum, Piku and the list is unending.
Amitabh Bachchan also tied the knot to Jaya Bachchan at the peak of his career and the couple was blessed with daughter Shweta Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan

Jr. Bachchan sporting a t-shirt with Paa’s image on it captioned the post as, “To me, he's so much more. My father, best friend, guide, best critic, greatest support, idol..... HERO! 50 years today he started his journey in films…..”
